At 8:00 AM, start your 4-day tour from Fes to Marrakech via the Sahara. Head through the mountains and cedar forests of the Middle Atlas to Midelt. Drive past Ifrane, also known as 'Little Switzerland' for its European architecture, weather, and cleanliness. Next, head to Azrou, an important handicraft center specializing in working with cedar wood. Arrive in Midelt, the city of apples, for lunch. In the afternoon, head to Erfoud and the desert. Dinner and overnight at a hotel at the foot of the Sahara dunes in Erg Chebbi.

Arrive in Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Morocco", and drive through the Thousand His Kasbah roads, and past the Skoura palm groves until you check into your hotel/riad.

Drive to the 'fortified city' of Ait Ben Haddou, on the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. Situated on a hillside along the Ouarzazate River, it has some fine examples of kasbahs, some of which are still inhabited. This place has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and has been the setting for many movies such as Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. After a lunch break, head to Marrakech via the Atlas Mountains.
